Ms. Patty Hyatt has been at the helm as director of the Brigade and Cheerleader sponsor since 1983. The assistant director of the Brigade is Ms. Alison Slaughter. The Junior Varsity Cheerleader sponsor is
Ms. Amy Pritula. She was a member of the Bengal Brigade and graduated from Katy High School in 1994.

This year marks the 30th year of the Katy Bengal Brigade. The Katy Cheerleaders were established in 1947 with four cheerleaders. Their sponsor was Miss LeGard. The goal of the cheerleaders is to promote school spirit and positive school climate by participating at athletic events and extracurricular activities. The cheerleaders are expected to be positive role models, serving as high school ambassadors at school, in the district, and at community events.
